About Utica First Insurance Company
The company history dates back to 1903 when they were called the Utica First Insurance Company of Onedia County New York. The region rather than a charter to operate as an advance premium co-op in 1903, and the company began to grow from there. What most stood out about this period of their growth is their location downtown which was a well-known landmark. The high-rise office building called the Utica Fire Insurance Building was instantly recognizable in the Utica skyline.
The company moved to an entirely new location in 1973 in Oriskany, New York. The new location was right next to the Oneida County Airport. By the 1980s, the company was working with many of the businesses within that region, particularly with the North East and Southern states. In the 1990s, they changed their name again to the Utica First Insurance Company.
Since the 1990s, the company has seen an explosion of growth due to the development of competitive products that have made businesses able to use insurance properly. Their business policies and homeowner's policies have earned them a reputation for providing some of the best insurance in the business and with more than a century of providing that service to businesses the company is one of the strongest in the market today. Today, they provide insurance across nine states and are committed to growing even larger.
Sometimes Utica First is confused with the Utica National Insurance Company, which is a totally different insurer. Utica National Insurance Group started in 1914 and provides personal and commercial insurance products and services.
